Characters Challengers of the Unknown [Ace Morgan; Rocky Davis; Prof Haley; Red Ryan]; Duncan Pramble [Multi-Man]; Gurk; prison guards; Central American natives
Synopsis In prison, an explosion "kills" Multi-Man. He resurrects with super-strength and breaks out. He meets Gurk, a wizard-collector, who wants three parts of a Golden Turtle statue. The Challengers track MM, who almost kills them with a steam shovel. MM and Gurk steal two parts to the statue and fly to Central America. Natives guard a temple and the third piece, which Gurk steals while the Challs dump antidote on Pramble, who reverts to a normal man. Gurk has assembled the statue, which unlocks a secret door pointing to lost tribal treasure. Pramble was speared and reached a final, permanent form: a frail body and giant head with super-genius. Gurk and MM are captured, but the Challs fret that MM's new super-brain will cause "plenty of trouble in the future".

Characters Challengers of the Unknown [Ace Morgan; Rocky Davis; Prof Haley; Red Ryan]; June Robbins; citizens; a microbe beast
Synopsis Alone in Challenger Mountain, June experiments on space spores brought to Earth by a balloon. They explode and she blacks out. The Challs return to find June is giant-sized and hostile, trying to crush them, but she passes out. Another menace is a huge red dragon-beast menacing a local town. June revives, sensible again, and grapples the monster. The beast avoided crossing a stream, so the Challs commandeer a fire truck and hose it. The beast shrinks to nothingness.
