On his way home Ghost Rider is shot by Towering Oak (the son of Flaming Star), who steals the stone. Towering Oak tries to take over his tribe, but is forced to fight the Ghost Rider in a trial by combat. Ghost Rider wins when Towering Oak's heart gives out from the strain of the stone.
