Synopsis |
Aquaman is alerted by his friend Peter, a puffer fish, that an alien starfish has landed on Earth, enlarged to giant-size three Terran starfish, and sent them off to help him conquer the world. Aquaman alerts the JLA, and they break up to take on the three starfish -- Green Lantern handling one, J'onn J'onzz and Wonder Woman teaming to handle the second, and Flash tackling the last. Flash finds that his starfish has taken control of the people of Happy Harbor, except for teenager Snapper Carr. He deduces that it is the lime covering Snapper, which he has been using on his lawn, which makes him immune. Knowing the way to defeat their enemy, the heroes regroup to defeat Starro, and declare Snapper an honorary member. |

Synopsis |
As several of the members of the JLA experience a sudden loss of power, Flash discovers that a thief has used powers like theirs to pull off the robberies of a European catfish and a cicada. Snapper suggests the thefts have to do with someone researching immortality, and the JLA splits up to investigate other long-lived creatures. In every case, the JLAers come up against an android named Amazo, who steals their powers, defeats them, and takes them to his creator Professor Ivo's lab. Using the information Amazo gathered, Ivo prepares an immortality serum for himself, then has Amazo use Green Lantern's ring to wipe the minds of the now powerless heroes. But Green Lantern is able to use the weakness of his own ring against Amazo and Ivo, restore the JLA's powers, and defeat the villain. |

Synopsis |
Kajar Ro blackmails the JLA into capturing his three rivals -- Kromm, Hyathis, and Sayyar -- by rendering the people of Earth motionless. Only the combined voices of these three despots saying Kanjar Ro's name will release the people of Earth. Once the JLA gathers the trio, however, Kanjar Ro double crosses the JLA and demands that they agree to let him go in exchange for freeing the people of Earth. But the JLA is prepared for his betrayal, and banish Kanjar Ro and his fellow rulers to a deserted world. |

Justice League of America [Flash [Barry Allen]; Aquaman; Batman [Bruce Wayne]; J'onn J'onzz; Wonder Woman; Green Arrow [Oliver Queen]; Green Lantern [Hal Jordan]; Superman; Snapper Carr]; Carthan; Xandor |
Synopsis |
Dictator Xandor banishes Carthan to Earth, and, to ensure he stays there, he also sends with him three machines. If Carthan attempts to leave Earth without removing the metal coverings over the machines, he will go blind; he can leave with his sight if he removes the coverings first, but that will activate the machines and destroy the planet. Once in exile on Earth, Carthan convinces the JLA -- which has just decided to admit Green Arrow -- that he is responsible for the machines and challenges them to disable them. While the other members disable the machines, Superman and Batman find Carthan's spaceship with Green Arrow trapped inside. As Superman and Batman free Green Arrow, the remaining JLA members enter Carthan's ship, but Carthan imprisons them in a hollow diamond until he can explain his situation. When he is unable to release the JLA from the diamond, Green Arrow finds the right spot to shatter it and release his new teammates. |

The JLA members relate to Superman and Batman several incidents where Green Arrow seemingly betrayed them, but GA explains that in every case he was protecting them from an impostor in their midst. Having heard their stories, Green Arrow can now identify the changeling as having taken Green Lantern's place. As they lead the faux-GL to jail, they are suddenly lifted into the spaceship of the impostor, who identifies himself as Doctor Destiny. Deadening the wills of the JLAers, Doctor Destiny leads them to join the real Green Lantern before he sends them all off into space. But GL, having been accidentally released from Destiny's control, surprises the villain and turns the tables on him. |
