During a quiet morning walk on Muir Isle, Alex Summers and Lorna Dane are attacked by a group of Egyptian henchmen! Meanwhile on the Empire State University campus, Peter Parker witnesses more Egyptian henchmen stealing a priceless ankh! Several hours later, the two storylines collide in New York City when Havok and the web-slinger team up to battle the Living Pharaoh! But after the pharaoh captures Havok and attaches the mystic ankh to the powerful mutant's neck...the Living Monolith walks the Earth again! What in the world is Spider-Man going to do now? Cameo appearances by Thor and the Beast. (Notes: The Living Pharaoh previously tried to tap into Havok's power in Uncanny X-men 54, 55, and 56. Art by Kerry Gammill (1st professional comics work - breakdowns) and Don Perlin (finishes). Cover by Keith Pollard and Bob McLeod. Peter Parker visits the law offices of Nelson and Murdock for free legal advice concerning his aunt. However, Peter's counseling session is cut short when Matt Murdock detects the Owl's helicopter close by! Daredevil quickly swings into action to tackle the Owl's henchmen, but Spidey is already mixing it up with them! Eventually both the Man Without Fear and the wall-crawler pursue the helicopter to the Owl's new aerie in New Jersey, where the final showdown takes place! Whitman Variant. "The Smoke of That Great Burning!" Guest-starring Spider-Man and Power Man. Plot by Chris Claremont. Script by Ralph Macchio. Pencils by John Byrne. Inks by Al Gordon. Cover by Bob Hall. Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, and Luke Cage are enjoying an evening at the Studio 13 disco, when suddenly masked gunmen bust in and start shooting! The two heroes quickly jump into the fray, but the thugs manage to escape after taking a hostage. Power Man and Spider-Man track the arson gang to a tenement building in the South Bronx, and that's where the action really heats up! When the gang sets the building on fire, the web-slinger, Power Man, and the New York Fire Department put their lives on the line to rescue the trapped residents! (Notes: This issue was critically acclaimed in the letters page of Marvel Team-Up 81 as tragically a real-life fire in Brooklyn claimed the lives of six firefighters in August 1978, about the same time this issue hit the newsstands.
