Wrongfully imprisoned by an ignorant sheriff, Jed joins forces with bona fide outlaw Vargos to escape from jail, but that goes wrong almost immediately. Evans knows he can outshoot the sheriff who just told him to leave town, but something makes him pause, in a story with art by 1970s Batman artist Jim Aparo. Black-hatted Bart is a hired gun who can outshoot anyone, until he meets the sheriff of Trailfork. Final issue of the original run; series resumes 12 years later.
