Part of A1 Comics, an anthology from Magazine Enterprises with content that varied from month to month. This issue featured an adaptation of the 1949 Ingrid Bergman film Joan of Arc. Led by the voice of God, young Joan galvanizes the French during the Hundred Years War. Captured and burned at the stake, she nevertheless becomes an iconic figure in European history and the Catholic church. The film, by Wizard of Oz director Victor Fleming, was adapted for comics by legendary comics scribe Gardner Fox. Featuring production stills of Ingrid Bergman and an historical discussion.
