Popular programs and efforts from this Congress include: The Voice of America radio show beamed into communist bloc countries; foreign policy efforts to fight the then very real threat of communism; ongoing efforts to rebuilding Europe after World War II; cutting taxes; and getting more people back to work. The story of traitor Alger Hiss is covered as is the Republican fight to expose communists in Hollywood, unions, schools and civil life. Other Congressional programs described include: The Taft-Hartley Labor Act; programs that benefit farmers; and increased veteran's benefits that made it easier to get a G.I.
