The Decepticons begin a conquest of Earth and it starts with Shockwave's attack on a new oil drilling platform off of the Oregon coast. Meanwhile, Buster tries to help Optimus Prime who is a prisoner in the Ark in "The Worse of Two Evils." Script by Bob Budiansky and art by Alan Kupperberg. This is a first printing. All 2nd or 3rd printings have a 2nd, 3rd printing notice on inside at bottom of indicia on first/splash page. 2nd printings were done for most issues from #1 to #9. Cover price $1.00.
