Collects Black Summer (2007) #0-1. Written by Warren Ellis. Art and Covers by Juan Jose Ryp. In a new edition, the start of the Warren Ellis masked hero epic, Black Summer, is available again! With the complete #0 and #1 issues together in one book, here is your chance to get the start of the super-powered epic everyone is talking about! Issue #0 features an original story, "There Is Only Ever Blood," that leads directly into #1! When the political situation in the USA becomes more than Horus can stand, he moves to take matters into his own hands. But since not all his other teammates are so eager to throw the world into chaos, an epic conflict starts to form. And no one will be safe as the bodies start to fall! Then, in #1's "Nothing But Storms," the politics of the president have forced Horus to take matters into his own blood-stained hands. But he acted on his own and now his old team is going to be hunted for the crimes Horus committed. The dangers of being a hero have taken their toll on Tom Noir. He lost a leg, and hasn't used his powers in many years as he drowns his problems with booze. But when a man-mountain named Vince, with far more advanced powers, shows up to find out how Tom is connected to his teammate Horus, the action kicks off and the team known as the Seven Guns is thrust into chaos as an epic conflict starts to form! 32 pages, full color. Blackhawk (1988 Limited Series) 1

Book One: Blood and Iron. Howard Chaykin revives the World War II fighter pilot and his team in a series that was fairly cutting-edge for its time, with plenty of graphic violence, sex and language, when such things were still rare in mainstream comics. Blackhawk wakes from an alcoholic blackout to find himself mixed up with gangsters, Nazi spies, a corrupt U.S. senator and a plot to steal the atomic bomb. For some reason, this miniseries was never collected into a single volume. Story and art by Chaykin. Mature readers. Squarebound. Prestige Format. 52 pages. Cover price $2.95. Cover price $2.95.
