But between his orders to fly in formation, and attacks by the enemy, he ends up in the "downstairs."

The enemy burp gun you capture has an empty clip. But then, the enemy potato masher thrown at you turns out to be a dud. Yeah, we've all had the kind of day where you have to take out the enemy with nothing but your fists, because nothing works.
